Post subject: Potrance Road Entrance

The ROACC has been working with TxDOT for the past several months to have a deceleration lane constructed on Potrance Rd at the westbound entrance to Rolling Oaks Ln, providing a safe entry for vehicles. We are now advised that this lane should be constructed by September.

The larger Potrance Rd expansion project (5 lanes from 1604 to 211) is currently scheduled to begin in 2013, with construction expected to be about 18 months. This is a joint TxDOT/Bexar County project, so scheduling is still somewhat tentative at this time.

Expanding Potranco to five lanes will be a great improvement considering all the traffic we have there. With new subdivisions to our west and more built to our east, the congestion gets terrible. It's been a long time coming.

Considering the "great job" they did on improving Potranco traffic flow and the resurfacing of 211, I would not hold by breath or bet on a 2013 start date.
